Concrete Sealer
Concrete Sealer or C-Guard Sealer is a transparent epoxy varnish primer for general concrete surfaces, consisting of two parts. The clear coating penetrates deeply into the surface, providing excellent adhesion, high durability, and resistance to chemicals, acids, and alkalis. It also offers outstanding scratch resistance and water resistance, with long-lasting gloss.
Properties
Concrete Sealer or C-Guard Sealer has excellent adhesion properties, especially for surfaces with moisture. It enhances adhesion between old and new concrete, offers excellent water resistance, and withstands acids, alkalis, and chemicals effectively. It is also highly resistant to scratches and provides a long-lasting glossy finish. The mixing ratio for Part A: Part B is 4:1.
Application Steps
1. Surface Preparation:
• For new surfaces, ensure the surface is dry, clean, and free from contaminants. The surface should comply with ISO 8504 standards.
• For previously coated surfaces, use high-pressure water cleaning at WJ3 level (NACE No.5/SSPC-SP12) or mechanical tools to clean the surface or roughen the concrete before applying the paint. For concrete surfaces, remove the top layer of concrete. The best method is Shot Blasting, which uses air pressure to blast round steel balls onto the surface, removing the top layer and cleaning it simultaneously. Alternatively, use hydrochloric acid (HCL) at 10% concentration by mixing 3 parts water with 1 part acid. Pour the acid into water, stir slightly, and then spread it over the concrete surface. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing with clean water 1-2 times, or use high-pressure water (around 150 bars) to remove any dirt.
2. Primer System:
Apply Concrete Sealer, a 2-part epoxy primer with a mixing ratio of Part A: Part B = 4:1. Allow at least 6 hours between coats.
3. Topcoat System:
Apply a topcoat using an epoxy or polyurethane paint system (W-4000).
